The Safety and Training Program Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining workplace safety programs and employee training initiatives. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, promotes a culture of safety, and enhances organizational performance through effective training, documentation, and continuous improvement. The specialist works closely with leadership, operations, and compliance teams to identify risks, implement safety controls, and deliver training that aligns with business needs and industry standards.

This position would be ideal for someone who formerly held a Class A CDL even if it is no longer active.

Essential Functions:

Safety Program Management:

  • Perform driver camera audits
  • Audit GPS with camera coverage
  • Maintain and create documents for safety training topics including safety training videos
  • Audit driver timesheets with electronic logs
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining company incident and accident statistics
  • Assist with safety programs and reporting

Training Program Management:

  • Design, deliver, and evaluate proactive driver training programs related to skill development, operational procedures, seasonal training, and new driver training.
  • Maintain training schedules, driver training systems (Infinit-i), and competency tracking tools.
  • Create training materials, including presentations, manuals, standard operating procedures (SOP’s), and e-learning modules.
  • Maintain and update training checklists
  • Set up training schedule for new drivers
  • Travel to and coordination with other terminals to implement programs

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Transportation industry experience

Preferred:

  • Safety and training program experience
  • Class A CDL experience.

Wage and Benefits:
